Honda Brio Automatic

The availability of an automatic gearbox equipped variant has just made Honda's city run about all the more suited to the cut and thrust of the urban grind. The gearbox in question is the five-speed torque converter unit from the City, albeit with different gear ratios. What's nice is that the gearbox works well to complement the 1.2-litre engine's peppy nature and only feels a tad slow on occasions when you stomp on the throttle. Sure, fuel efficiency will be marginally down on the manual car's but that's fair price to pay for the clutch less convenience of the Brio Automatic. The Brio will get another shot in the arm with the launch of a 1.5 liter diesel equipped variant in 2014.

Volkswagen Cross Polo

The next generation Cross Polo is ready for new adventures. With its refreshingly cheeky all-terrain look, unique world of colors and features, and a higher ride height (15 millimeter gain), the Cross Polo is very appealing as one of the most unconventional vehicles in its class. This all-rounder is powered by extremely fuel-efficient engines with a power range from 51 kW / 70 PS to 77 kW / 105 PS. Buyers can choose from three petrol and three common rail TDI engines.

Specifications :

Engine: Inline 4 cylinder turbo diesel
Capacity (cc): 1598
Power (kW): 77 @ 4,400 rpm
Torque (Nm): 250@ 1,500-2,500 rpm
Transmission: 5 speed manual
0-100Kmph : 9.9 seconds

The six engines of the Cross Polo have power levels between 51 kW / 70 PS and 77 kW / 105 PS. The entry level among the petrol engines is represented by the 70-PS version with a 1.2 liter displacement. Following at the next level is a 1.4-litre engine with 63 kW / 85 PS. The top petrol engine is the new 1.2 TSI with the mentioned 105 PS. This turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine accelerates the Cross Polo to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds, reaches a respectable top speed of 188 km/h, yet has a combined fuel consumption of just 5.5 liters of fuel (equivalent to 128 g/km CO2). The highlight here: The Volkswagen not only attains these values in conjunction with the standard 6-speed gearbox, but also with the optional 7-speed DSG, an automatic. Also deliverable as an optional DSG version is the CrossPolo with 85 PS.

The new CrossPolo also shows off its versatile talents when it comes to space and efficient space utilisation. As mentioned, the rear bench can be folded with a standard 60:40 split. When it is completely folded, the car's cargo capacity increases from 280 to 952 litres. The dual cargo floor - adjustable to two height levels - creates a continuously level loading surface. Four tie-down eyes simplify secure fastening of the cargo to be transported, while two hooks in the side trim panels keep bags from tipping over

2013 Ford Mondeo

The all-new four-door Mondeo HEV is Ford's first hybrid passenger car for Europe, and combines a specially-developed 2.0-litre petrol engine with a 35kW lithium-ion battery to provide high fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The most premium Mondeo ever built and the most premium vehicle Ford's loyal European customers have ever been offered. It raises the bar in its segment in terms of style, technology and quality. Built on Ford's global CD-segment platform, the refined new version of the Ford flagship will be available as a five-door and wagon – uniquely developed for Europe – as well as a four-door that will also be offered as segment-first petrol Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV).

For the first time on Mondeo, a diesel all-wheel drive variant will be offered, delivering superior traction, performance and handling. Mondeo is the first Ford to feature headlamps with LED high-beam, low-beam and signal lighting. Quicker to illuminate, more durable and more energy-efficient than traditional filament bulb headlamps, the all-new Mondeo's LED headlamps turn with the steering and adapt beam projection to vehicle speed – providing a greater depth of illumination at high speeds and a wider field of vision at slower speeds.

Mondeo will also offer segment-first SYNC with MyFord Touch a voice-activated in-car connectivity system that delivers an eight-inch color touchscreen and the ability to act as a WiFi hotspot for up to five devices. SYNC with MyFord Touch will enable drivers to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road while controlling phone and media player functions from connected devices, as well as the vehicle's climate control, radio and CD-player, and navigation system, using voice commands. All new Mondeo also delivers the European debut of Ford's rear inflatable seat belts. These are designed to reduce head, neck and chest injuries for rear-seat passengers. In the event of an accident the belt rapidly expands to disperse crash forces across a body area five times greater than that achieved by a conventional seat belt.
